Global Surge in Credential Theft and Dark Web Marketplace Activity – 40M+ Records Compromised Across Multiple Platforms

Between September 30 and October 1, 2026, multiple threat actors allegedly orchestrated a coordinated wave of credential theft operations, resulting in the claimed exfiltration and distribution of over 57 million authentication records across dark web marketplaces. The most significant development involves LeakZero's alleged acquisition of 40 million rows of private data from API logs, Telegram bots, and web applications, while cloudmarket_pro allegedly distributed an additional 14 million URL:login:password combinations. Concurrently, the DOC-SHOP marketplace allegedly advertised access to compromised credentials from major US financial institutions including Citibank (564+ entries), Bank of America, Chase, and Wells Fargo, alongside 31,398 fullz records containing SSN, DOB, and driver's license information. This activity coincides with the emergence of a critical vulnerability (CVE-2025-48757, CVSS 9.3) in AI-generated code platforms, which allegedly enabled unauthenticated database access across multiple applications. The convergence of massive credential theft, financial institution targeting, and AI platform vulnerabilities represents a significant escalation in cybercriminal capability and suggests coordinated infrastructure development for large-scale fraud operations. Organizations should immediately implement credential rotation protocols, enhance monitoring for unauthorized access attempts, and review AI-assisted development security controls.

  • LeakZero allegedly exfiltrated 40 million rows of private data from API logs, Telegram bot communications, and web application databases, representing one of the largest single-actor data breaches reported in Q4 2026
  • Cloudmarket_pro allegedly distributed 16.8 million stolen credentials (14M + 2M + 786K combinations) for free download, indicating a shift toward mass credential distribution rather than monetization, potentially enabling widespread account takeover campaigns
  • DOC-SHOP marketplace allegedly offered compromised credentials from 2,828 retail/service organizations and 7,663 banking credentials from major US financial institutions, alongside 31,398 fullz records and 12,050 records containing bank account/routing numbers
  • CVE-2025-48757 (CVSS 9.3 CRITICAL) allegedly affects Lovable platform and other AI-generated applications, enabling unauthenticated attackers to read/write arbitrary database tables due to missing Row Level Security policies, with researchers estimating 74 CVEs attributed to AI coding tools in Q1 2026 alone
  • Multiple threat actors (Debay marketplace, DarkCC) allegedly advertised comprehensive fraud-as-a-service offerings including SIM swapping, social media hacking, database breaches, cryptocurrency drainers, and ransomware development, indicating maturation of cybercrime-as-a-service ecosystems
